Noel O’Connor’s farm is based in Beaufort (Kerry). Noel owns a mixed suckler herd, and keeps Kerries because he’s fond of them and wants to contribute to their preservation. He knows very well how difficult it is to make any gain from breeding Kerries for beef, in comparison to specialised beef breeds. Out wintering some cattle on the hills of Beaufort he also keeps a few inside during the harsher months of the year.
